SNOWBIRD MOUNTAIN LODGER 2009
Dear Friends,
It was late when I took the dogs out to sunrise point. Walking past the Lodge I noticed that most guests had turned
in for the night. The dogs were frisky with the onset of cold weather and raced far ahead as I walked. Stopping at the
angels and looking back towards Cedar Top Mountain, I looked up at the night sky. A sliver of moon was out, a planet
or two and the night sky was brilliant! It was as if pixie dust had been thrown throughout the heavens. Thousands of
stars lit up the sky. I love this time of year.
I realized on that walk that the enjoyment of winter couldn’t come without the other seasons. How can we appreciate
the cold without the warmth, black without white, light without darkness? This is one of the lessons that I learned in
2008, to be accepting. Take the bad with the good and appreciate both because
we can’t have one without the other.
We open for the 2009 season on February 6 and it promises to be an exciting
and wonderful year! While The Lodge won the Wine Spectator “Award of
Excellence” and the “Golden Service” Crown Award for 2009, we know that
these awards mean little without our many guests and friends that continue
to support our dreams, visions and goals for the Lodge. If you have never
visited the Lodge or we haven’t had the pleasure of your company in a
while, please consider this our personal invitation to join us for what will
be a memorable year.
